Drivetrain:
Powerglide and then TH 350 transmission. Halibrand Champion Quick Change with 4.11 gear
Chassis:
2 X 3 Rectangle main frame & 1 1/2 tube chassis built by Dale Caulfield of Red Bluff CA
Wheels & Tires:

Front - Centerline Wheels with M & H Racemaster front runners

Rear - Originally, Wide-five wheels with 27" M/T Tires = 2008 went to Taylor Made Wheels of South Gate CA, Wide-Five 18" wheels with 30.0 x 9.0-18 M/T Tires. Weelbase 156 inches, Rear axle narrowed front wheel inside body 18" apart.


Body:

Dick William's PoliForm 1934 Streetrod body that we chopped to match the Pierson Coupe profile. Was in primer until 2007 when it was painted by Ken Close of Red Bluff CA.

Tom Thumb Special I

1956 - 1934 Dodge Pickup, 300" Desoto, Mopar 3-speed trans with overdirve.

Tom Thumb Special II

in the 1955 National Meet at Great Bend KS. I ran it at the 1/4 & 1/2 mile drags, but at SCTA Meets it ran Modified Roadster which was a fuel class at that time.

Tom Thumb Special III

built for Bonneville C/GC 1958 - 1948 Ford Coupe, 300" D Desoto, 3-speed Ford trans

Tom Thumb Special IV

Built 1959 - 1930 Ford Roadster, 300" Desoto changing to 302" Chevrolet in 1963 - Herbert roller cam - Hillborn Injection. 3-speed Chevrolet trans and Halibrand Quick Change.

Tom Thumb Special V

Built 1964 - 1929 Ford Roadster - VW front end - 302" Chevrolet Hillborn Injectors - Isky Cam - V-8 Halibrand Quick Change w/3.78 gear - Rear tires in those days were used 18" Indy tires.

Hi Tom, I'm honored you joined. The Bryant family and the Tom Thumb cars are legendary racers! My sincerest sympathies about Barry last year. Your car was, to me, the Baddest of 2009 and the reason I love competition coupes. If you ever want to write about any of your old race cars, you have a place to publish it! Thanks again!

Chris, Checked to see who you were...great site you have here..got attracted to this by the Facebook "Bonneville Salt Flats Baddest Race Cars - Fiat Simca | MyRideisMe.com" You are right, #125 is a great car and George is a great guy. I have been a Bonneville addict since 1957 and many of the greatest I can call my friend. Too bad that many are gone.
