Ford Courier "FE3T Courier"
Drivetrain:
The infamous Mazda FE-DOHC engine aka FE3 resides under the bonnet. combined with the usual reliability mods and a healthy dose of high octane fuel, its capable of swallowing 17.5psi on a stock bottom end. The only internal mods are Cams from the higher spec model of the engine (made 148ps stock), intake collets on the exhaust valves, vw vr6 outer valve springs, overtorqued head. Everything on the outside of the engine has been changed dramatically. Mazdas strongest rwd gearbox as used in the turbo rx7 models from "turbo II" to "bat". Otherwise known as ribcase. The ratios are terrible, but i'll be sourcing an rx7 gear set for it at some stage. The box comes with 280hp attached to it stock, and is reputed to be good for 500hp. i'll be finding out when i turn up the boost. The rear end is the stock nz market lsd 8" live axle but with extra clutch packs to tighten the locking action. the driveshaft is from a b2600 to match the diff, chassis, and box. Both the engine and box have had their mounts filled with urethane to reinforce them. The engine is also extensively braced with corolla adjustable trailing arms to stop it breaking mounts.
Chassis:
The chassis was stripped to bare metal and has had all the rust removed and some reinforcing done to it. other than more coats of paint than most cars have on the body its mostly stock.
Wheels & Tires:
Temporary chrome terrano 15" steelies with 225/50/15 DOT race rubber on them. R888 and D01J specifically.
Body:
Nothing at all :-) its not about looks for me, its about go and looking boring to avoid attention from the police.
Interior:
Currently a birds nest of wires for the modified megasquirt 2
ecu unit. Also a dash with a tacho from a later model mazda ute.
