Ford Roadster "Bonnie"

How it all started..

I just got back from living in Japan for over 2 years.  I thought a long time about what kind of hot rod I was going to get since I didn't have a car at all when I lived in Japan.  I was thinking of a Zipper body, but was totally turned off by the 6 month wait.

Then at the 2004 Scottsdale Goodguy's show, I was on the prowl for something I could afford.  I really wanted a modified since they looked great and were simple enough that it would be a good first project.  I saw a few for crazy money, then I saw this car as it' shown in the "Original Bonnie" tab.  I loved it.

I chased down the owner enjoying the show.  I asked if it was still for sale and Alan said, "Well...." that didn't sound good!  He told me that he and Boyd Coddington shook hands on a deal for the car. Since Boyd could be this car 1000 times, I figured it was gone.  I left my phone number anyways.  Alan called on a Tuesday to say that Body never came through.  On Wednesday, it was in my garage.
