Not only did they have an amazing hot rod in their booth and an invitation for me to the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational, but they also had this neat new battery charger. Since the old school battery chargers don&#8217;t work conventionally with Optima batteries, it only makes sense that they&#8217;d come out with this product. Lucky for us it includes all the neat engineering I&#8217;ve come to expect from Optima &#8211; heck, there&#8217;s even a USB port on the side in case you need to charge your iPod too! This 1952 Chevy Deluxe started as a barn find from Texas. Although new Camaros and Mustangs dominated in terms of numbers \u2013 there were some excellent classics and hot rods scattered in among them. The most impressive collection was featured in the PPG booth. The 100% customized wagon&#8217;s owned by California native Norm Ricardo. So it isn&#8217;t very often you get an offer to sit in a booth&#8217;s car. But this <a title=\"SEMA 2011 Kickoff \u2013 So Many Custom Cars\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/sema-2011-custom-cars\/\" target=\"_blank\">1969 AMC AMX is a different story<\/a> &#8211; I would expect no less from its owner, Jimi Day, organizer of the annual Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational (the race held the day after SEMA to give the &#8220;real&#8221; cars a chance to prove their stuff!)<\/p>\n<p>When the fellas at <a title=\"High Performance Clutch Store\" href=\"http:\/\/centerforce.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Centerforce Clutch<\/a>, where this car was shown, asked me to take a seat I was happy to oblige. With so much passion behind their engineered performance clutches, you can&#8217;t blame them for trying to convert a gal who drives an automatic! Produced only between 1968-1970, the AMX was the only all-American steel-bodied 2-seater being made during the time.
