My dad and I have been going to shows and\" data-image=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/img_5212.jpg\" data-button=\"\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<img src=\"\/\/www.linksalpha.com\/images\/social_share_button.png\" alt=\"Share\" class=\"linksalpha_image\" \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a><script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"\/\/www.linksalpha.com\/scripts\/loader_iconbox.js?v=2.4\"><\/script><\/span><\/div><p class=\"MsoNormal\">Where do I start? <span> <\/span>Gregg\u2019s cord of woody wagons, Dale\u2019s nostalgia RPU or their dad Terry\u2019s custom gauge panels?<span> <\/span>When you meet a family as nice as the  <span> <\/span>Seaholm\u2019s out of Tucson,  AZ, their story needs to be told.<span> <\/span>Stories like this define My Ride is Me.<span> <\/span>My dad and I have been going to shows and swaps forever, so I know what it\u2019s like to be there with family.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">For kindling, here\u2019s Gregg\u2019s <em>other<\/em> woody\u2026 <em>(click on any picture to make it bigger!)<\/em><span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a title=\"img_5211.jpg\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/img_5211.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[218]\"><img class=\"alignnone\" style=\"margin: 4px 10px;\" title=\"Ford Woodie\" src=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/img_5211.jpg\" alt=\"ford woodie, custom woodie\" hspace=\"10\" vspace=\"4\" width=\"575\" \/><\/a> <a title=\"img_5212.jpg\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/img_5212.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[218]\"><img class=\"alignnone\" style=\"margin: 4px 10px;\" title=\"Ford Woodie\" src=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/img_5212.jpg\" alt=\"ford woodie, custom woodie\" hspace=\"10\" vspace=\"4\" width=\"575\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I didn\u2019t grab too many details on this one, but as you can see it\u2019s got perfectly restored wood, a killer stance and Radir wheels with wide white walls.<span> <\/span>I dig the picture I got where it\u2019s behind Gregg\u2019s prize.<span> <\/span>This woody is one of my favorite rides from the entire show.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a title=\"img_5206.jpg\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/img_5206.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[218]\"><img style=\"margin: 4px 10px;\" title=\"img_5206.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/img_5206.jpg\" alt=\"hot rods\" hspace=\"10\" vspace=\"4\" width=\"575\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Dug out of a garage in Pasadena,  CA, stored since 1964 by the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> owner, dig this 1940 Ford Woody.<span> <\/span>Can you believe, after all that time, in 2006, the guy\u2019s wife said, \u201cGet it outta here!\u201d<span> <\/span>Gregg\u2019s got a good friend in Wes Aplanalp over at Woodies USA in Cave Creek, AZ that knows Gregg\u2019s passion for woodies.<span> <\/span>It was a perfect match and the deal was done quickly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">After bringing it home, it didn\u2019t take long for Gregg to make and execute his plan for his new ride.<span> <\/span>Luckily, the Seaholm has hooked up with a reliable builder in Hi Speed also in Tucson, AZ.<span> <\/span>Tony Ribeau, part owner and wrench at Hi Speed was on hand enjoying the show with the family and soaking up compliments for his work.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a title=\"img_5204.jpg\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/img_5204.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[218]\"><img title=\"img_5204.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/img_5204.jpg\" alt=\"img_5204.jpg\" hspace=\"10\" vspace=\"4\" width=\"575\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">When the woody arrived at Hi Speed, there were only 30 days left until the premier woody event, Wavecrest.<span> <\/span>This once a year show held outside San   Diego in Encinitas, CA, is a must for the true woody fan.<span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Getting started, they found that the previous owner had put in oil and turned over the engine once a month for all those years.<span> <\/span>He also labeled all the parts and fasteners he\u2019d removed!<span> <\/span>Genius! But, the original flathead would never have fired\u2026 the distributor caps were on backwards! (not genius\u2026)<span> <\/span>After cleaning the tank, rebuilding the carbs and replacing tired fuel lines, she fired right up.<span> <\/span>42 years of sleep and it purred like new.<span> <\/span>It should, having only driven 60,000 miles.<span> Finally, <\/span>all of the safety items were checked and repaired and new Drake wiring was installed cause the cloth sheathing was done-for.<span> <\/span>The mouse (there\u2019s always a mouse!) made his final resting place in the glove box and left the original interior and top alone.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a title=\"img_5209.jpg\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/img_5209.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[218]\"><img title=\"img_5209.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/img_5209.jpg\" alt=\"img_5209.jpg\" hspace=\"10\" vspace=\"4\" width=\"575\" \/><\/a><a title=\"img_5210.jpg\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/img_5210.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[218]\"><img title=\"img_5210.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/img_5210.jpg\" alt=\"img_5210.jpg\" hspace=\"10\" vspace=\"4\" width=\"575\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The rust free body was left alone except for paint restored using the original color on the firewall. They gave it a little patina to match the beautiful wood that originally caught my eye. <span> <\/span>This kind of patina can\u2019t be man made.<span> <\/span>To protect it Hi Speed hit it with a little teak oil, then used clear Deft to seal it and walla.<span> <\/span>In person, it\u2019s perfect.
