My parents were up visiting from California and of course, poppi and I talked\" data-image=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/1964-Ford-Falcon-Futura-V8.jpg\" data-button=\"\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<img src=\"\/\/www.linksalpha.com\/images\/social_share_button.png\" alt=\"Share\" class=\"linksalpha_image\" \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a><script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"\/\/www.linksalpha.com\/scripts\/loader_iconbox.js?v=2.4\"><\/script><\/span><\/div><p>After doing the <a title=\"Volk 1929 Roadster project\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/1929-roadster-part-1-a-long-time-coming\/\" target=\"_blank\">Volk &#8217;29 Roadster<\/a> story last week, I was\u00a0way into traditional hot rods.\u00a0 But, knowing that my daily driver\/hot rod needs to be more\u00a0practical, have a heater and a back seat, 1960&#8217;s rods make more sense.<\/p>\n<p>My parents were up visiting from California and of course, poppi and I talked cars.\u00a0 He had a 1964 Mercury Comet Cyclone for about 15 years or so.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve thought many times I should do a tribute Comet, black just like dad&#8217;s, high revving 289 ci or 302 ci and a modern 5 speed.\u00a0 The problem is, Comet&#8217;s are hard to find clean.\u00a0 Plus, they&#8217;re a little\u00a0bigger \u00a0than I typically like.\u00a0 I&#8217;m a small car kind of guy.\u00a0 The Ford Falcon is the Comet&#8217;s baby brotha from another motha.<\/p>\n<p>I was doing my usual daily classifieds browsing on Craigslist and found this 1964 Ford Falcon Futura with a V8 and 4 speed trans, front disc brakes,\u00a0 and a straight body already being used as a daily driver.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"highslide\" onclick=\"return vz.expand(this)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/1964-Ford-Falcon-Futura-4-speed.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[6736]\"><img class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6739\" style=\"margin: 4px;
