Thankfully CarTOONS was in full circulation too and that really put me over the edge! Then during the late 80&#8217;s and early 90&#8217;s, I really got into drawing Pro Street cars. Nothing was safe from becoming &#8220;pro street-ed&#8221;. You could make anything look nasty by dropping it and adding a set of big &#8216;n&#8217; littles!\u00a0 I like to work with markers and pastels mostly but have been known to do hand painted work in Photoshop too. Nothing beats pencil and paper though!<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong><em><a class=\"highslide\" onclick=\"return vz.expand(this)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/Ameripan-1961-AMC-Rambler-gasser.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[8654]\"><img class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8655\" style=\"margin: 4px; 1961 AMC Rambler gasser rendering by 1320Designs\" width=\"575\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/Ameripan-1961-AMC-Rambler-gasser.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/Ameripan-1961-AMC-Rambler-gasser-150x124.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/Ameripan-1961-AMC-Rambler-gasser-300x248.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/Ameripan-1961-AMC-Rambler-gasser-400x331.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This first one is Joel&#8217;s latest and is\u00a0our own <a title=\"Pikesan's 1961 Rambler Wagon Project\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Garage\/pikesan\/18\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pikesan&#8217;s 1961 AMC Rambler Wagon gasser<\/a> concept drawing.\u00a0 You&#8217;ll be seeing more of this concept from Joel in the future as he fine tunes Pikesan&#8217;s ideas onto paper for his project Rambler.\u00a0 Like a budget Chip Foose if you will, drawing\u00a0Pikesan&#8217;s project car ideas, allowing him to visualize and try out different mods, looks, paint jobs, wheels, etc. I&#8217;m amazed at the skill involved to do drawings like this.<\/p>\n<p>Why &#8220;Ameripan&#8221;?\u00a0 Well, Rambler American Wagon +\u00a0Japan sourced engine (aka Nissan Titan truck 5.6L V8).\u00a0 &#8220;Ameri &#8211; pan&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8217;61 Rambler wagon\u00a0looks so right as\u00a0a gasser, don&#8217;t you think?<\/p>\n<p>On to some of Joel&#8217;s fine hot rod art&#8230;these were his favorites.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"highslide\" onclick=\"return vz.expand(this)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/Brown_41b.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[8654]\"><img class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8781\" style=\"margin: 4px; Boss 338 wheels.\u00a0 Shows great detail on the wheels with the chrome lip and gray centers.\u00a0 The orange and white creamsicle 2-tone paint scheme flows nicely with this body style.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"highslide\" onclick=\"return vz.expand(this)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/kookstruck.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[8654]\"><img class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8784\" style=\"margin: 4px; is drawn more as a Custom with the black scallops, mini white walls on chrome Astro Supreme wheels.\u00a0 Notice the ride height of all these rides.\u00a0 Just hugging the ground. It was no small task to bag the stock suspension.\u00a0 The rear meats almost look pro-street.\u00a0 I love the detail in the pug-nose grille and headlights.\u00a0 Stance and wheels can make anything look rad.\u00a0 Even check out the decal in the rear glass.\u00a0 You gotta stare at these renderings by Joel, there&#8217;s all kinds of details. hand sketched\/drawn hot rods with pencils, markers and pastels, but I have A LOT of respect for the skill to do\u00a0digital renderings.\u00a0 Joel says on his website that a buddy used to own a &#8217;78 Ranchero.\u00a0 If Joel got a hold of one, this is how he&#8217;d do it up.\u00a0 Cool retro paint scheme and big Keystone mags.\u00a0 Digital allows you to do beyond real reflections and shine.\u00a0 Boom!\u00a0 That&#8217;s wild!<\/p>\n<p>Well, this was just a taste of Joel Nelson&#8217;s skills.\u00a0 Hit him up with your project ideas or just go check out his other work on his
