Despite the ferocious 40 mph wind gusts\u00a0and the threat of morning rain on Saturday, over a thousand tricked-out cars, trucks, and SUVs turned out to participate in the festivities.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"highslide\" onclick=\"return vz.expand(this)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Carlisle_Performance_and_Style.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[9768]\"><img class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9770\" style=\"margin: 4px; border: black 2px solid;\" title=\"Carlisle Performance and Style\" src=\"http:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Carlisle_Performance_and_Style.jpg\" alt=\"Carlisle Performance and Style\" width=\"575\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Carlisle_Performance_and_Style.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Carlisle_Performance_and_Style-150x99.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Carlisle_Performance_and_Style-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.myrideisme.com\/Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Carlisle_Performance_and_Style-400x265.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The show organizers were trying real hard to overcome the bad image the show gained back in the rowdy early 2000s when it wasn&#8217;t uncommon for the local police departments to make a couple hundred arrests during the course of the weekend. Their efforts to be more family friendly could be seen by such simple items\u00a0 as \u201cParental Discretion Advised\u201d signs posted on some of the buildings that contained content not suitable for the youngsters and passing out\u00a0carnations to mothers on Mother&#8217;s Day Sunday. There was a decent showing of Mustangs, Camaros, and Challengers on the Carlisle Fairgrounds. Seeing these high dollar marvels inspired me to buy a lottery ticket later in the evening. There was something going on all day. Events included: NICOfest drift exhibitions, Playboy model Jesse Layne signing autographs, RIX Magazine model search, DJs, a burn out contest, Club Olympics, and of course the Ms. Carlisle Bikini Contest, and more.<\/p>\n<span class=\"vvqbox vvqyoutube\" style=\"width:575px;height:355px;\"><span id=\"vvq-9768-youtube-1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qFmtcAsuTIM\"><img src=\"http:\/\/img.youtube.com\/vi\/qFmtcAsuTIM\/0.jpg\" alt=\"YouTube Preview Image\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/span>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.carlisleevents.com\/ce\/index.asp\" target=\"_blank\">Carlisle Events<\/a> posted a short YouTube video with some of the highlights of this year\u2019s show.<\/p>\n<p>So, were you there?
