Ride Nickname:
Stude
Make:
Studebaker
Model:
Champion
Year:
1955
Introduction / Overview:
Studie is my first love. I've enjoyed getting to know how to wrench working on her. Read more about us at www.GreaseGirl..com! She was my daily driver for years...now I have a back-up but continue driving her as much as possible. I love driving her, love setting off car alarms with her, heck...Los Angeles traffic isn't even as bad when your sittin in her!
Drivetrain:
Most everything came out of another Studebaker project that had been abandonded. It's powered by a 383 small-block Chevy. 700R4 trans with custom column-shift, Ford 9" rear, Holley Street Avenger Carb, triple G manifold. Custom-made headers, 2 1/4" exhaust, glasspacks.
Chassis:
Frame/suspension/brakes are original. Ford 9-inch rear end.
Wheels:
Basic ;) I need to beef up the tires a bit to get a little more grab for the 383's power!
Body:
Original 1955 paint. Body's in pretty darn good condition. A slight scrape on one side & a little bit of rust...she won't get new paint until my bills are paid! (If ever!)
Interioir:
Rebuilt by me. Re-foamed all of the seats and covered. Rebuilt side panels. Custom glitter vinyl headliner for the roof was a fun project.
Dash and all are stock. Steering wheel is out of a later-model Studebaker Hawk.
Lifestyles:
Old-School, Hot Rodder, Build-It, Drive-It, H.A.M.B.
