From Pikesan, Picks and Pics:

I’m cheating and making it the top 11. Never conform, right!?  I would have ended up with all customs (and what’s with the orange theme?) so I picked a pair of hot rods to contend!

I gotta go with #6, the 53 Merc. Not only was the car sick, but it had a kick’n stereo tucked into the trunk. This was my favorite from Viva. The 53 Chevy was a close second… that paint was too cool. Keith Kaiser, is this how Gene Winfield’s painting your car??

53 Chevy…your pic is better overall of course pikesan, but I like that mine shows the color. Gee, 3 suede picks from me…it seems I have a thing for suede!

  3. RT1 on April 7th, 2010 6:21 am

I had to go with the 51 Merc, love the flames…

  4. DalyLady (Mamasan) on April 7th, 2010 7:46 am

I liked #3, it is more my style. I’m not the low to the ground type and too young for the Model T types. Nice picture everyone!!

  5. Hechtspeed on April 7th, 2010 8:49 am

I had to go with #9, the A coupe. I’m just a sucker for white walls, white headers and traditional hot rods. A super close second is #1, the orange suede custom.

  6. Larry on April 7th, 2010 9:12 pm

#8 The Model A’s its more my style and a close second is #9

  7. joe Gutierrez on April 7th, 2010 10:30 pm

  10. Miguel Ontiveros on April 9th, 2010 2:32 pm

#4 Has got to be the BEST! You just never know what is going to be thought of next – way to go RIck!

  11. Lucina Gurrola-Baca on April 9th, 2010 2:39 pm

#4 – Sensational for a custom built car!!! Kreations of a mad scientist is all I can say.

  12. allan wash on April 10th, 2010 7:45 am

#5 sure catches the eye, but I’m partial to 49-54 chevy’s

  13. Swanee on April 10th, 2010 8:25 am

#9 Going Dutch!!!!….I love’s me a bitchin motor in a cool hot rod and they did a awesome job carrying the them through out the hot rod……=]

  14. Swanee on April 10th, 2010 8:28 am

“awesome job carrying the theme throughout the hot rod”

  15. Sir Richard on April 11th, 2010 8:43 am

#4 Seems inspired by the old school masters. When you find out it was built from spare parts and in only 52 days, exceptional!

  16. retro915 on April 11th, 2010 6:04 pm

A TRUE RAD ROD is #2 Ford Pickup. There is nothing like rust, cracks, scratches, bare seats……and so on! The Patina Model A’s are also awesome. You dont need fancy paint, plush seats, air conditioner, radio…… For a gal like me as long as its LOUD and RUMBLES!!!

  17. DOMENIC TRINGALI on April 12th, 2010 10:35 am

    # 4 is wild

  18. jim on April 14th, 2010 1:02 am

#2 I like the ford with green flames its a true rat rod. there were so many neat little tricks the builder came up with the picture does not give this truck justice, disc brakes all around. hand built frame, they took junk like an old Craiger center cap and turned it into a gas cap, turned one mans junk into his treasure . if that don’t say rat rod then i don’t know what does ..anyone can bolt on aftermarket parts if they have money but this truck is captures the true meaning of Rat rod….OLD FORDS NEVER DIE …ROCK ON

  19. "Dukes" on April 17th, 2010 2:43 pm

#2 THE BEST ONE IV’E SEEN!!!! BAD ASS FORD!!!!

  20. sally on April 17th, 2010 3:13 pm

    #4 ROCKS!!

  21. hotrod on April 19th, 2010 7:47 am

got to give it to #2 all the way has the support group good picture in his head of what he want and one hell of a builder for a true rat rod not a car from a comic book rat rods are suppose to be old time dragsters not undriveable comic cars!!!!!!!!

  22. el Jefe on April 20th, 2010 3:02 pm

#2 is a bad litlle truck. Nothing like having all original body and a lot of imagination to add all that other stuff in the man’s head.

  23. Jorge Cuevas on June 10th, 2011 10:28 am

    I like Mercury

  24. Horace Felder Jr on August 8th, 2011 8:37 am

All those Hot Rods are on point.
