Ford Mustang "Grandpas Ponytale"
Drivetrain:
The 200 inch 6 cylinder and 3 speed stick drive train are mostly stock with the addition of a Pertronix Ignitor and coil for reliability.
Chassis:
Basically stock. The chassis was stiffened by adding the export brace and a custom built Monte Carlo bar. The shocks are KYB GR2's. Lowering the car 2 inches all around was accomplished with a combination of cut coils in front and lowering blocks in the back.
Wheels & Tires:
The traditional wheel treatment of stock black walls, baby moons and NOS Rotunda trim rings was a must.
Body:
Shaved fender emblems and hood letters. The nifty stuff includes both a Cal Custom 5 Tube grille insert and a stainless eggcrate style grille insert made by the Detroit Grille Company. Lake pipes were added along with a set of FAA (Ford Authorized Accessory) Foxcraft skirts. A restyled rear has 67 Cougar taillights and body colored bumper. The exhaust now exits thru the origonal rear valence modified with a single GT trumpet and trim ring on the right side. The body was recolored and Some mild pin striping and outlined flames were added (by MK Johns of Kansas City) to accent the side panels and hood.
Interior:
The interior is pretty much stock with the addition of a Moon blue metalflake steering wheel and an original blue flamed Flameball shifter knob . The addition of a Cruiser console really makes the long trips and cruising around much nicer. The most recent addition is a set of aftermarket NOS Highlander headrests.
