1951 Mustang pony made in glendale cali. from 1946 to 1964 trade marked intill 64 name went to ford for the car. So the frist american made mustang was a motorcycle not the car. it had a side valve (flathead) 330cc motor and a 3 speed trans it is called a light weight motorcycle (light weight 12inch wheels) the baddest scoot you could have in the 40's 50's and 60's. about 22,000 were made and about 2000 exist according to the mustang motorcycle club of america. They beleive that maybe anthor 1000 might be out there still that are not account for.
