"HemiJeep "     1978 Jeep YJ

Introduction / Overview: I always wanted a Jeep bucket as opposed to a T bucket. Both bodys have some similarity. I set out this year to build on. A jeep based altered race car. So far I have the chassis, a sectioned grill i did and a wooden Facsimily f the final body design Last week a friend delived an aluminum version of my wooden buck but I have no pics of it yet.
Drivetrain: I have a 5.7 hemi bought piece by piece and will spend next winter doingthe motor. It has a narrowed 8 3/4 Dodge rear with spool and a 904 trans
Chassis: Designed and built by me including the front axle it is 104 inch wheelbase with 1/4 eliphtic front suspension and a hardtail rear. I keep a pair f rule books handy as I build. The lower rails are 2X3 125 wall mild steel and the rest is 1 1/2 mild steel 1/8th wall Dom steel tubing.
Wheels and Tires: Super tricks al around with Goodyear 31 X13 X15 inch slicks rear. front tires willbe 23 inch hieght , right now the ones are are just rollers.
Body & Paint:

Hand fabbed first in Wood paneling then transferred to .050 aluminum by a good frend body weighs less than 20 .lbs. It is about 32 inch wide average and 17 inches high. Grill is a narrowed 78 Postal Jeep grill . A friend gave me that when he heard my plans and I narrowed it one bar at a time to be sure I didnt loose the Jeep look.

Interioir: One upholstered Race seat(Car is centre steering like old school altereds)
