"29 Lakes modified roadster"     1929 Ford Model A

Introduction / Overview:

29 Ford roadster pickup body on modified 32 rails, modifed lakes style, i.e. no fenders. very low.

Drivetrain: 2000 Ford Zetec engine, Hilborn electronic fuel injection, fabricated custom exhaust header, Borg Warner T5 transmission, early Hildebrand quick change with full floating axles. Willwood disc brakes alround. Fabricated custom radiator.
Chassis: 32 rails that have been flattened and piched to 18 inches in the front. Very custom rear cross member, Model T rear spring, 4 inch dropped front axle with cross spring. Custom radius rods, Schroeder sprint car steering. Tube shocks front and rear.
Wheels and Tires: Wheels are Wheelsmith wires 4.5 x15 front and 8 x 18 rear, customer cherry red powder paint. Front tires are Firestone rib sprint car tires and rears are Firestone 8.20 x 18 dirt track tires.
Body & Paint:

Body was built from Brookfield 29 reproduction skins. Rear qtr panels have been lengthen 8 inch on top and 2 inches on bottom. Doors fit flush and are 1 inch longer. Cowl was narrowed 3 inches, grill shell narrowed 5 inches. 3 piece hood and side panels fabricated from alum, lots of louvers. Body is in red primer and alum hood is bare, frame is black powder coat.

Interioir:

Interior is all aluminum panels, with bomber seats. Made the windshield mounts and also dash.

 Note: I did all of the fabrication, modification, machine work, welding, painting etc on this car.
