"48Chevrolet" 1948 Chevrolet Thriftmaster
Introduction / Overview:
Started this project in August of 06 and finally finished it April of 09! Couldn't have done this without the help and guidance of my friends and family. I wanted to have that vintage engine but the modern convienence of cruising down the highway!
Drivetrain:
Chevy 261 inline 6 1961 bored with 500cfm edelbrock 4 barrel carb. Clifford 6=8 intake
700R4 tranny out of a 89 Suburban
Chassis:
89 Jaguar XJ6 independent front suspension with springs cut
S-10 rear end chackles cut and moved to line up with existing springs on truck. Used a 2" lowering block for the rear.
Wheels and Tires:
American Racing Torq Thrust 18" and 20"
Body & Paint:
PPG Blue Sydney Pearl over black primer (resulting in a little darker color)
Interioir: Seat is out of a mid 80's van, not sure it was around and fit perfectly! Recovered in Vanguard by Futura Vinyl Mahogany with Vanguard Ostrich accents.
