"Oldbigchief" 1949 Buick Super
Introduction / Overview:
She came from Texas being never scratched, or molested in any way. Absolutely alive after 22 years under the Texas sun and dust (I wonder that it hafta rain really nuthing in Texas).
The 8inline Fireball is simply magic.
Drivetrain: Dynaflow. Y've not so clear why do they use to call it "Slipa Flow" in the States. Apart of that, the big couply in the rear axle -called "pig head" in Spain- goes finer than my T4 California putt.
Chassis: Untouched.
Wheels and Tires: I can't explain myself (again) how in the muck coulda brake so manificently IN 1949!!
Body & Paint: Faded, aged, but resplendent encore. Dark green metallic.b The chrome work couldn't be equalled today.
Interioir: Just incredible. Few Americans can imagine that in 1949 GM offered more than FORTY types of upholstery, and among them was this SILK. Yes, I said silk. Natural silk, biologic silk, not the average more or less fortunate fiber copy of anything. Same dark green of the body. Instrumental, radio, and generally all the dash stuff is a pleasure for the eye, 'cept the fact that the GM's gold-tinted two big clocks are pretty discolored.
