Mandan Cabin Fever Indoor Car & Bike Show
The Pioneer Auto Club of Bismarck is gearing up for the Mandan Cabin Fever Car & Bike Show in Mandan, ND. This is year four for the annual show held in January. The dates for this year's show are January 22 and 23, 2010.
Each year the club donates proceeds from the show to charity. Last year the club raised more than $4,000 for the Bismarck Cancer Center. This year the club is contributing funds to the "Amber's Dream" car build project.
"Amber's Dream" was inspired by Amber DesRoches. Amber was just 11 years old when leukemia took her life in the days preceding Christmas 2007. In time and despite unbearable grief and sorrow, Amber’s family couldn’t help but remember how the teenager often talked about transforming the children’s hospital at Medcenter One. When she wasn’t telling someone what she envisioned for children who would be hospitalized after her, she penciled her thoughts in her journal. After her passing, “Amber’s Dream” was given life.
Pioneer Auto Club partnered with Medcenter One Foundation to restore a 1938 Chevy Sedan. The car will be raffled after its completion to benefit “Amber’s Dream,” an expansion, renovation and redecorating project for the Children’s Hospital at Medcenter One.
The Cabin Fever show is held in three indoor locations in Mandan: Riverwood RV, Moritz Sport & Marine, and Action Motor Sports. The entry fee is $15 and the first 100 entries will receive an event windshirt and a dash plaque. All participants are invited to the Saturday meal. Any participant traveling from over 50 miles away will receive $30 in Mandan bucks. Trophies will be awarded for Governor's Pick, Mayor's Pick, and Amber's Dream Pick. General admission to the show is a free-will donation to the Amber's Dream car build project. The awards ceremony and dance will be held at the Seven Seas with entertainment from The Front Fenders. The dance is open to the general public with a $5 admission.
Pioneer Auto Club is still seeking sponsors for the show. Sponsors receive a link on the official event website and recoginition at the show itself. If you're interested in sponsoring the event, let us know!
