"RC" 1980 Dodge Ram Charger
Introduction / Overview:
This was the last year (1980) that any of the Big 3 offered a completely convertible SUV. The original steel top unbolted at the windshield and along the side rails. Unfortunately the steel top was too heavy for 2 people to remove and so I took it off permanently and purchased a soft top. Purchased in California in 2002.
Drivetrain:
- Stock 360 (5.9L) V8
- 727 Torqueflite Auto Trans
- NP 208 Part Time Transfer Case - 4x4.
Chassis: Body on Frame - short wheel base SUV
Wheels and Tires:
- Custom Aluminum Rims
- BFG All Terrain T/A KO
Body & Paint: Body is about 99% rust free and fairly straight - a few small dents, Repainted in 2004 - Paint (Yellow) is fairly good.
Interioir:
Upgrades in 2009 -
- Seats reupholstered and new foam
- Rear carpet replaced
- New seat belts
- Roll bar wrapped
- Custom dash with Equus gauges
