Vintage Rides 1927 Ford

From Bonneville... bout time I added some more pics. I have just a few!

Got a little tired of the white walls, plus I'm trying to push the car to one era or another.

this is in front of my house with some photoshop love.. i actually use "the gimp" to edit pictures

this is the cleanest she's ever been. also, the only time the header was red. it burned off immediately

Introduction / Overview:

Here's Bonnie. She's a 1927 Roadster that I bought in 2002. It's a cool story how I got it when the late Boyd Coddington passed on it.

In case you didn't know, I'm one of the co-founders at MyRideisMe.com. We started as cars and bikes, but now we're only cars. I hope you like it! Leave a comment, say, let me know what you like!

Drivetrain:

It's a PINTO motor! Embrace it! C3 automatic and an 8" with 4:11 gears

The engine has a custom made header and a custom made intake, both made by me with help from friends. There's 2 weber 44 carbs on top. The internals of the engine are stock, but the heads ported and has been modified for a solid lift cam.

Chassis:
2x3 box frame made by the original owner. The front and rear suspensions I re-did later. Check out the pics. There are quarter elliptical springs front and back. I included a picture made from pro/E, the cad software I used to design the front end. Every seen that done before? The shock mount also mounts the spring and the headlight.

Wheels:
Just changed the wheels to 16" steelies with Firestone bias ply rubber. So far, they ride better then I though they would, especially in the back. I still run some stainless trim rings with caps.

Body:
yea. right. it's PPG primer black. She's also had a good taste of Bonneville salt. I left it on the tail light and license plate!

Interioir:
Custom by owner... haha.

Hi man, nice to have such a site to go to, thx., and thx. for the crew invite. Love your "bonnie" man, inline engines rule !!!I've always been a builder of bikes and trucks (mostly 4x4's) and now I've seen an idea that has spurred me to go ratrod... in a Big way. I'm gonna make a "rat semi rod" (blastolene inspired) I'll probably use a newer truck. I know of a early '70's KW that I'm attempting to buy. I haven't desided yet but maybe even "bucket" style (who needs a roof and, hood right)

Hey Pike, seen your comment...I plan at being at GG's. I have alot going on during that week and it doesn't involve hot rods, im sorry to say. Have to take care of Jamie. As far as new pics...well i'm workin on it...jamie and i will be out on the road soon. She misses it...

Thx for stopping by. Not sure if we will make the Show & Shine. Have a big Food drive/Cruise we are putting on the day before. Nov. 15th, but we will check with the guys see if any of them plan to head up.

I was reading that many area high schools and vo-techs build street-rods, hot rods for training purposes and fund raising. I would consider donating the use of the molds to one of them, and let My Ride receive the publicity/credit for the contribution
